Solo Travel Destination: San Juan, Puerto Rico

Languages spoken:  Spanish, English

A beautiful array of colourful buildings grace Old San Juan.

Reasons to go:  Old San Juan is a beautiful and walkable area with a European flare. You can visit many historic sites such as Catedral de San Juan Bautista, Casa Blanca, Castillo San Filipe del Morro (commonly known as El Morro), Castillo San Cristobal, Plaza de Las Armas (one of many squares in Old San Juan) and see the City Hall near San Juan Gate.

Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes (obviously running shoes are the best) as the grade is steep plus you will be walking on cobbled streets. Thats one of the best parts!

If you like museums, there are many to visit here.

After all of your walking, stop in to Old Harbor Brewery for some refreshment. The cold beer on a hot day will go down very smoothly.
