The mystique of Machu Picchu.
Reasons to go: Hiram Bingham stumbled upon one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century—and what was named in 2007 as one of the new Seven Wonders of the World: Machu Picchu.
I had always dreamed of reaching Machu Picchu, but years of being bogged down with the humdrum, mundane routine of the rat race had seen my dream grow dimmer. Until, that is, I decided to finally quit my job in May 2011, and fly to South America to spend my 40th birthday at Machu Picchu.
Hey, they say life begins at 40, right?
There are so many articles written about Machu Picchu that I have nothing new to add except that it is simply amazing. Words do not do this place justice. You have to be there to soak in the scenery.
Taking a break to soak it all in.
