A-7 at Montrose Regional — photo by Joseph May

Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ)

These images were taken in of around the year 2002 and, though I am not sure of their date, are of the LTV A-7 Corsair II mounted on a plinth at the Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) in Montrose CO. The images were captured in the old school way using slide film. Since  Colorado is famous for crisp blue skies I used Ekatchrome slide film since it recorded blues so accurately — and it is nice to see film grain again, at least for some of us.

A nice surprise to see in the images was the presence of a white Land Rover 110 in the front row of the parking lot in front of the terminal. Montrose was wonderful to visit and was also an excellent place to get my Subaru repaired after having lost a rear wheel bearing — but that is a story of being on the road, not one for this aviation related blog
