After my whirlwind trip to LA and London, relaxing in Wales with a friend, I did take off and travel solo for a week.

Plaza de Espana (pictured above, and in the slideshow) turned out to be my favorite sight in Seville. It was the Alcazar that earned Seville the second spot on my Lisbon-Seville-Sintra itinerary (sorry Porto — next time). I had always heard about how amazing the Alcazar was, and dont worry, it didnt disappoint. But I was totally ignorant about the exceptionally colorful Plaza de Espana, until I saw a full-page photo of it in my guidebook, Frommers Seville Day By Day. And then, I thought: I must go there.
Set in the Parque de María Luisa, Plaza de Espana is like Venice meets a ceramics shop on steroids. You c
Costa Cruises is the latest cruise line to change its itinerary to avoid some countries in North Africa and the Middle East. Costa Cruises will avoid calls in Tunisia, Egypt and Israel during 2011 and says that since the beginning of its operations, the Italian company and its passengers have learned to value and appreciate the great appeal of these three countries as prime tourist destinations. “However, due to recent events, the company decided to change the itineraries of the cruises which initially included calls in those countries.”

Jackson’s research, based on the 2004 General Social Survey of American adults, found the number of “very happy” married individuals 65 and older was 60 percent among those who had sex more than once a month. Only 40 percent w Read more…

The model NC-4
The previous post was about the real Curtiss NC-4, first aircraft to cross the Atlantic Ocean which resides in the National Naval Aviation Museum. The mammoth size of the seaplane makes it difficult to capture it in a single image — not that I am complaining since any visitor can walk right up to it to see the fabric’s texture and wooden hues.
Thanks to models though we can see either what no longer exists or get a sense of what the aircraft looked like when it was in flight. I am
